In Ayurveda, it is mentioned that Vasaka Leaves Powder or Adulsa or Vasa helps to reduce extra heat from the body. The powder supports purification of toxic blood and fever reducing properties. Adulsa Or Vasaka Powder also helps to maintain proper functioning of heart and blood glucose level. Chemical analysis of Vasaka has found presence of alkaloid Vasicine which has shown remarkable bronchodilator activity. It should be given regularly in morning and evening empty stomach with warm water or honey to help to relieve symptoms of cough & breathlessness due to spasms in bronchi. It has been used to help control both internal and external bleeding such as peptic ulcers, haemorrhoids and bleeding gums. Water extract of the powder helps adequate intake of oxygen and proper functioning of lungs, which in turn provides oxygenated blood to heart muscles & various organs.
